The Sammlung Reinking spans roughly 200 artists from the 1960s onward: Informel, Fluxus, Minimalism, Conceptual Art, Urban Art (Graffiti / Street Art) and contemporary painting — painting, sculpture, installation, video and conceptual propositions, with indigenous artefacts as a counterpoint to Western contemporary positions.
Since the late 2010s its permanent home has been the Woods Art Institute in Wentorf near Hamburg, the cultural institution founded by Rik Reinking as a place of encounter between art, nature and people — 2,500 m² of gallery space, twelve artist studios, a boarding house and a sculpture park on a wooded estate on the Bille.

Collector · Dealer · Curator, lives and works in Hamburg
Rik Reinking is a German art collector, dealer and curator based in Hamburg. Raised in Oldenburg, he bought his first work — a self-portrait by Horst Janssen — on his way to school at the age of sixteen, in 1992 for 250 DM. From 1996 he studied law and art history in Hamburg and, in 1997, organised his first curatorial project in the Alter Elbtunnel.
In 2006 he was named by the federal initiative Deutschland — Land der Ideen one of Germany's 100 Köpfe von morgen, holding “one of the most exciting collections of young contemporary art in Europe”. In 2014 Apollo Magazine selected him for its 40 under 40 in the Collectors category. In 2007 he founded Artfonds 21 AG, a stock corporation built around the idea of returns through serious collecting.
“The heart of contemporary art is in you.”— Rik Reinking
